Year 1 had a fantastic day yesterday at the Centre for Life in Newcastle as part of our Explorers topic. They had a fun-packed day; visiting the Planetarium, looking at the stars and planets and discussing Neil Armstrong. They took part in a Destination Space workshop and carried out an experiment to decide which materials would be best to make a spacesuit, thinking about life in Space. We were lucky enough to go in to the Space Zone which has been set up to replicate The International Space Station where the children explored the different areas. We finished the day with a Science Theatre Show where the children had the opportunity to vote for the experiments they most wanted to see…In the children’s words this was ‘EPIC!’ Behaviour was outstanding throughout the day and we really did have a fantastic time!
