E-safety Update for Parents and Carers

Dear Parents/Guardians

As you are aware, some of the content that appears on the internet can include video clips that are nasty and traumatic, especially on social media apps that allow users to upload content – sometimes anonymously.

As part of safeguarding and e-safety, we remind our pupils that they should report any content that they come across and feel is inappropriate to responsible adults.

You can access videos about keeping children and families safe online here: http://www.ictinschools.org/e-safety-for-parents-and-carers/

We also remind our pupils that computer games are rated according to their content and that children should only access age-appropriate games. Even if a PEGI 18 rated game looks fun, it should not be played by young people below the age of 18.

With the launch of the Playstation 5, it is worth taking a look at the attached leaflet which provides information around setting up a new PS5 and keeping young people safe while they use it.
