Mental Health Week in Nursery

The children in Nursery love spending lots of time outside and this week as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we have also been talking about how important fresh air, being outside and enjoying nature is for happy healthy bodies and brains.
As part of our work on signs of Spring, new life and planting/growing, we have been learning about Minibeasts. We searched outside in different places using our magnifying glasses to see what Minibeasts we could find.  We are learning to care for animals and plants.
We enjoyed having our snack outside with our friends in the Secret Garden and listened to stories outside.
On Monday we had a new experience for some of us as we listened to the thunder and heavy rain and watched the lightning.
In Forest School this week we became ‘Busy Little Spiders’ from the story by Eric Carle.  We found a huge spider’s web in the trees and had to work hard to crawl and climb under, over and through the web all the way to the middle to collect treasure.  We had lots of fun and always enjoy a hot chocolate together at the end of Forest School.
