Art Week in Year 2

During Art Week last week, Year 2 have studied James Rizzi and created a London Skyline in preparation for the Queen’s jubilee.

What a busy week we have had celebrating Easter in Reception!!! We have had lots of fun egg hunting with treats and prizes for everyone, taking part in an egg and spoon race, an Easter Bunny egg collecting game over an obstacle course and Easter corners!!! We made chocolate Easter nests, had parents in school to make Easter bonnets and went to St Simon's Church to take part in the special Easter service where we sang 'Spring Chicken.' We have talked about what Easter means to Christians and what Easter is like in a church. We acted out parts of the Easter Story including Palm Sunday and The Last Supper and made an Easter Garden to show the cave where Jesus was placed. Although part of the story was very sad we also learnt that it was a story about new life and new beginnings. We also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Urban Factory and World Number Day this week too!!! Phew!!!
