Acorn Class First Week Back

Attention everyone – lots of bubbles, rainbows and tickles to grab our attention.

In DT we created a red bus, to link with our topic work – Capital Life. This week we looked at the capital of    England – London. We were so proud of our red buses.

Construction work, Mason D created a castle, he said there’s lots of castles in England, linking with our topic work.

In continuous Provision, we love to go into the writing area to practice our writing and fine-motor skills.

In cookery today, we tried something different. We baked jam tarts in the air fryer. They were yummy!

Mason W and Lucas, worked together in the Maths Area, they had to use coloured elastic bands to create different shapes, and they raced against each other.

Hash browns- we enjoyed trying new foods they were delicious.

Science, sorting materials. We played guess the materials game. Objects were made out of, wood, glass, metal, fabric and plastic.

Sponge squeeze transfer

Use a sponge to soak and squeeze water from one container to another.

All about time in Maths this week. We used clocks to show the time that Mrs Addison told us. We also had to tell the time and write the time. This week we have been learning o’clock.

Acorn Travel Agents

Staff and children have worked very hard to turn the Role Play Area into a travel agents, linking into this terms Topic work, Capital Life. Mrs Addison, Mrs McBarron and Miss Lamb modelled how to use the new area. Children were very excited.

Whale feels worried was the book voted for this week by the children. Democracy continues to be a very important part of the Acorn class, this is to support all children to have their say.
