Attention Everyone!
One of our favourite times of the week, is ATTENTION EVERYONE !!!!!!
From what’s in the box to dancing rice, bubbles, lights, tactile tickles and the spinning chair.
We sang the seven continents song and, Mrs Addison used the flour to make a silhouette of the continents and we had to guess.
We certainly were engaged and Mrs ADDISON CERATINLY HAD OUR FULL ATTENTION!

In PSHE we have been learning about our British Values. We have all had a discussion about “Democracy.” We decided as a class that this a big value and helps everyone to have their say about what they think is important. We have introduced a weekly book voting station, where we vote out of two books, which book we would like to read that week.

We used our amazing cutting skills, to make our very own fruit salad. We chopped, peeled, cut, sliced and diced, finally we added a tasty juice to it, and it was delightful. We then used the peelings and slices to make a face out of our vegetables for Harvest.

Enjoying our daily mile, another way we get ready to learn.

Coming soon, outdoor learning area!
Acorn and Sycamore, staff and children started to clear up the space outside the two bases, we are wanting to create an outdoor learning environment. We worked really hard together to clean the area. We are all so excited!!!

We discussed healthy foods and what balanced diet helps with our mind!

Martha maps it out, this week we looked at positional language – North, East, South, West, we carefully listened to the directions that we had to take. We then mapped out our bedroom and used the construction equipment to map it.

For mental health awareness day we thought about what is mindfulness and how we can be mindful. We then did a fun mental health challenge using our senses.

We had a very special visitor, Emma Lewell– Buck a Member of Parliament, we shared our classroom rules, discussed our daily routines and how our environment supports our learning in the classroom. She was very impressed and said she was going to share our discussions in Parliament.

Observational drawings in art, we had to concentrate very hard.

In P-E this week, we worked as a team to control and move the ball on the parachute. We had to use our hand and eye coordination and concentrate; it was very tricky at times.

We grab any opportunity to share and read books.

Sensory Diet—In Acorns class we understand the importance of good self regulation for our learning and behaviour. We focused on hand and eye coordination, core strength and gross motor skills. We had to be very strong.

Rice and shaving foam fun in sensory, another tool we use to practise our number and word formation.

Squiggle Whilst you Wiggle –this helps us with our co-ordination, gross motor and fine motor skills. We listen to the music and follow different actions and movement for us to be ready to learn.

Tapping sticks this week, was all about listening to the instructions and practising our Hand and eye co-ordination skills, following the beat of the song. The children were much better than the teachers!

We are Honest was our book we shared in PSHE, we talked about how it is important to tell the truth and the consequences of not telling the truth.

During PSHE we discussed how to keep our minds healthy. The children said being outside helps them to feel regulated. We decided to go to Washington Wetlands Centre. We engaged with Ava the osprey and learnt about how they are a vulnerable species and how birds migrate. We had lots of fun and enjoyed playing in the park.

YOGA FRIDAY!!
Wow these yoga movements were tricky, we had to use our resilience and tolerance skills to achieve the movements. We encouraged each other it was a real team effort.
