KS2 had a great time this afternoon when they were visited by the famous author Tom Vaughan. Tom visited school as part of the National Children’s Book Festival and he spoke to the children about his books from the Hercules series, which were inspired by his love of Greek myth. His recent book Hercules: Diary of a (Sort of) Hero was Waterstones Children’s Book of the month for March 2024. Tom read an extract from his most recent book, the sequel to this, Hercules: A Hero’s Journey (on a school trip), answered questions about being an author and discussed Ancient Greek gods and goddesses. Some children even had a chance to purchase his book and get them signed by Tom himself.
