British Science Week in Nursery 3’s

This week, our Three Year Old Nursery children have taken part in British Science Week, exploring the theme Curiosity: What’s Your Question? The children have been noticing exciting changes in nature as we begin a new season, Spring. From green shoots, budding flowers and blossom on the trees,to bumble bees, birds singing, lighter days, warmer weather and lots of rain! Their curiosity has really come to life. Here are just some of the thoughtful questions we have been asking: What changes happen in spring? What is growing in spring? Why are baby animals born in spring? What do plants need to grow? Through lots of hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, reading books and stories and lots of discussion, we’ve been discovering the answers together, planting seeds, observing changes, and learning how living things grow and change. We love seeing the children so engaged, being curious , asking questions, and developing their understanding of the world around them. The children have all brought home a ‘signs of spring’ scavenger hunt which you might like to look for in your garden or on the way to school or when you are out and about. 🌱🌼🔍✨
