Celebrating Chinese New Year in the 2’s
We have been having a wonderful time celebrating Chinese New Year together!
The children have enjoyed listening to the story Busy Chinese New Year, which helped us learn about how this special festival is celebrated. We have also been learning the Makaton sign for horse, as this year is the Year of the Horse.
In the home corner, the children explored Chinese food play, practising how to use chopsticks and role-playing cooking. In our sensory tray, we enjoyed filling and emptying rice, and making pink handprints to make our very own Cherry Blossom Tree.
At snack time, we tasted some Chinese food together, including rice, noodles and prawn crackers. The prawn crackers were definitely a favourite—everyone loved them! 🧧🐉✨
