To celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week in the 2s’,we explored this year’s theme, “This Is My Place.” We created a large piece of collaborative artwork featuring pictures of all of us to show that everyone’s place matters.We began by looking at photos of ourselves and talking about how each of us is special and unique. We discussed how we all belong in the 2s room, just like a family, and how our classroom is a place where we feel safe, valued and included.The children thoroughly enjoyed painting on a large scale and especially loved the sensory experience of using their hands to add colourful handprints. It was a wonderful way to celebrate belonging, individuality and togetherness.
