It was an exciting day in Reception today! We had a visit from some firefighters and they even brought along a fire engine. The children learned all about the job of a firefighter, the importance of having a working fire alarm and what to do if it goes off.

They also learned about the special protective clothing firefighters wear to keep themselves safe, and some of the children even got to try it on.

The excitement continued in the playground, where a fire engine was waiting for them. Everyone had a turn squirting the hose and “putting out the fire.” They were all superstar firefighters!
