This week in Forest School we received a letter from a cold hungry scarecrow asking us for help to make some
Autumn soup to keep him warm. We talked about how the weather is getting colder and the days darker, we learnt that the farmers are harvesting their crops before the winter and animals are collecting food ready for their long winter sleep or flying to warmer places. We followed the recipe and collected conkers, pine cones and autumn leaves. We added water gave it a stir and then served in bowls for our scarecrow friend. The children were fascinated by their reflections in the water in the tough tray and noticed they could see themselves waving, the trees and clouds.
