Nursery used the apples which we had collected from the trees in Forest School to make apple crumble. First, Miss Collins peeled the apples and took out the core. Then we used a knife to carefully cut the apple into smaller pieces, which we put in a pan with a little water and cooked. Next, we mixed flour, porridge oats and sugar into a mixing bowl, then added butter. We used our fingers to rub the butter into the mixture, then put this on top of the cooked apple. The crumble went into the oven to cook. When it was ready, we enjoyed the crumble together at snack time. Some children loved it so much they had seconds (and thirds in the afternoon!)🌳 🍎
