Nursery 2’s
Today in the two’s and Isobel room we had lots of fun celebrating VE Day. Everyone looked amazing dressed up. We made Poppy printing pictures using apples . We had a street party tea party and enjoyed the yummy food. We finished off having a good dance to some 1940’s classics.

Nursery 3’s
Nursery 3’s celebrated VE Day with a street party outside in the garden with all our friends and teachers. We talked about how we celebrate a special time and what we need for a party. We decorated the garden with bunting and flags and then had delicious party food with cakes sandwiches and juice. We played games, sang songs and enjoyed listening and dancing to music from the 1940’s. We talked about this being a very special day a long time ago because the war ended. Families who had not seen each other for a very long time and who had missed each other lots, could be together again. We remembered the little red poppy as a special flower which helps us think about all the soldiers who keep us safe and the red white and blue Union Jack, which is the flag of our country. Some of our friends dressed up in clothes from the 1940’s.

Reception
Reception class enjoyed VE Day celebrations by dressing up, listening to 1940s music, dancing, looking at objects from the war and enjoying a tea party in the garden. Fun was had by all. 🇬🇧🎈

Year 2
Year 2 commemorated VE Day by reading each others stories of family heroes. We were lucky enough to examine medals from a Great Grandad of one of our friends in year 2. It was a really special day and an enriching history experience.
