We were really lucky today to be visited by the author-illustrator Kate Rolfe. Kate visited school as part of the Northern Childrenโs Book Festival. She delivered a whole-school assembly telling us about her journey breaking into the world of picture book making, developing her first 3 books, basing stories on her own experience of neurodivergence and friendships and what it means to be a neurodivergent author-illustrator. The children asked Kate some fantastic questions about being an author-illustrator then Kate finished by drawing a new character made up entirely of letters!
