What a busy science week in Year 3! To end the week, we finished our rocks and soils topic by learning about fossil formation and the famous palaeontologist Mary Anning. Mary Anning found an ichthyosaurs fossil in the cliff of Lyme Regis many years ago! We read the story ‘Stone Girl Bone Girl’ to find out more. We made our own fossils and discussed how fossils can be trace, mould, imprint or remains preserved in amber, tar or ice. We looked at real examples of fossils and found the process fascinating.
