To kick off British Science Week, Year 3 put their STEM skills to the test taking part in the Primary Leaders Award. They were asked the question ‘If you were an engineer, what would you do?’ and came up with inventive solutions to real life problems. They drew their designs, and wrote a formal letter to the judges telling them about their creation, how it works and who it helps. They also met with Dr. Oliver Joris from the Ford Motor Company. He designs, tests and builds new cars, and spoke to them about the various careers at his firm. It inspired many of the children and I am sure that you will agree their work is extremely imaginative!
