Year 3- Time Odyssey Quest at the Great North Museum: Hancock

This week, Year 3 took part in a โ€˜Time Odysseyโ€™ history quest at the Great North Museum: Hancock. Time Odyssey is a fun, interactive learning experience that takes pupils on a quest through the museum โ€“ physically and virtually! Created by the British Museum, using pioneering technology, we were able to engage with the museum collections in a completely new and innovative way. We worked in groups to follow a learning adventure. Each group had a tablet and used it to meet 4 characters lost in time from Ancient Rome, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt and the Stone/ Bronze/ Iron Age. We chose a character, then took on a series of challenges to help get them home by gathering enough energy from museum objects to open a time portal!! We learned lots about our current history topic as well as the history that we will go on to learn in Year 4. We also used our reading, storytelling, speaking and listening and computing skills. It was a fantastic day (and very busy!) day, as you can see from all of the photographs.
