Year 3- Treasure Project/ Working with an Artist

Year 3 spent Thursday and Friday this week working with the wonderfully inspiring artist Theresa Poulton. This was to create drawings that are going to be made into a sculpture for an exhibition at the Great North Museum Hancock. We looked at her work (It’s a Wrap) and recreated it in our own unique way. We also looked at toys and discussed how they could be treasures from the past in many years to come. We each chose a toy and drew it using the many skills that we had learned. Then, taking inspiration from Theresa and other artists, we drew geometric designs. We held our own ‘gallery viewing’ where we thought like a curator and were so proud of our finished pieces. We really enjoyed working with Theresa and our work will shortly be in the museum for all to see. Details of when it is available to view to the public will be shared with you all very shortly.
