This week in their science lesson, Year 5 have been investigating dissolving. They did an experiment to see if temperature affected the speed at which a substance dissolves. In groups of 3, they had a cup of cold, warm and hot water, which they put a sugar cube into and stirred it until it dissolved, timing the result for each cup. We found that the warmer the water, the faster the substance dissolves.
