Lord Blyton Primary School
Nursery 3's celebrated VE Day with a street party outside in the garden with all our friends and teachers. We talked about how we celebrate a special time and what we need for a party. We decorated the garden with bunting and flags and then had delicious party food with cakes, sandwiches and juice. We played games, sang songs and enjoyed listening and dancing to music from the 1940's. We talked about this being a very special day a long time ago because the war ended. Families who had not seen each other for a very long time and who had missed each other lots, could be together again. We remembered the little red poppy as a special flower which helps us think about all the soldiers who keep us safe and the red white and blue Union Jack, which is the flag of our country.
