Last week, our Three Year Old Nursery children went on their first adventure to Forest School in 2026!!! It was lovely to take some of our new Nursery friends with us for the first time too.!!We have been busy bird spotting in Nursery as part of the RSPB's Bird Watch Week so we named and counted lots of different types of birds which we saw including seagulls, pigeons, crows, blackbird, sparrow and even a little robin. We read a story 'Charlie crow in the snow' and decided to make bird feeders to hang in Forest School for Charlie and his friends because we know in winter it can be hard for birds to find food. We also made bird feeders to take home and hang in our gardens, using our fine motor skills to carefully thread the Cheerios on the pipe cleaners! Finally we played a matching sorting snap game with different birds looking carefully at the colours of their feathers..We enjoyed a hot chocolate to warm us up before heading back to Nursery🐦 🦅 🦢 ... Year 3 Computing- Stop Frame Animation. In Year 3, we have been looking at stop frame animation. This is a filmmaking technique where physical objects are moved in tiny increments and photographed one frame at a time, creating the illusion of independent movement when played back rapidly, like a super-powered flipbook. Following on from their earlier success in the year when they qualified from the South Tyneside competition. One of our y6 dodgeball teams were in action at the Tyne and Wear County finals. After finishing top of their group with a 100% winning record. They went on to also win the semi final, meaning a place in the final of the County final.In the final after a level score of 5-5. It was time for 1 minute of extra time. The team unfortunately had 1 extra person eliminated than the opposition in extra time, meaning the narrowest of defeats. A really unlucky, gruelling and hard to take way to lose a final, but ultimately the teams should be ultra proud of their performance and achievement. To be recognised as one of the top 2 teams in the county is a huge honour and something as a school we are very proud of and the children should be too!! ... See MoreSee Less
