An absolutely incredible day at Washington hub yesterday, in the girls South Tyneside Champions league competition. The competition was based around the best performing 6 teams in South Tyneside. There were approximately 30 teams playing in the league in September and by finishing 3rd in our league the girls gained qualification for the Champions League.

The competition was incredibly tight with all 6 teams playing some fantastic football. Ultimately though our girls finished the competition as Champions and took home the trophy for the 2024/2025 season!!!

As a school we could not be prouder of the achievement of those 10 girls yesterday. They have written their names in the Lord Blyton history books. Not only the first girls team to win the Champions League but the first Lord Blyton girls team to even compete in the Champions League.

The girls passion, dedication and hard work yesterday was unmatched.

You can see in the picture of the trophy lift what it meant to them!!

There were tears from the kids, parents and maybe a couple from staff too.

A truly monumental acievement.
