Year 5 have been studying properties and changes of materials this term in Science. As part of this topic we have been learning about acids and alkalis.

Today, we tested the pH of substances to see if they were an acid, an alkali or neutral. We found that water, washing up liquid and soap were neutral, vinegar and fizzy pop were acids and bicarbonate of soda is an alkali.
