Author visit for Years 3 and 4

Years 3 and 4 had a visit from the author Lauren Davis on World Mental Health Day. Lauren read her book ‘The Rainbow Snail’ to the children and all of the children used their painted handprints to make a ‘rainbow butterfly’.

Two of the characters in the book have autism and ADHD and our children discussed how it is OK to be different from others and to accept people as they are.

As a school we feel that it is important to promote reading for pleasure whilst this book’s themes of acceptance and uniqueness further promotes the inclusiveness of Lord Blyton Primary.

The Rainbow Snail by Lauren Amy Davis is available to buy from Amazon for £6.50.
