Our Three Year Old Nursery children made their first trip to Forest School of 2023. We have enjoyed our Nursery Rhyme of the Week ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ so much, that we decided to follow the children’s interests and create a huge clock in Forest School. The children searched for the different numbers hiding on wooden logs in the trees and bushes and tried to identify the numbers. We then put them in order from 1-12 to make our clock which we noticed was a circle shape. We added sticks to be the hands and sang the nursery rhyme, finding different times on our clock i.e. 1 o’clock 5 o’clock 10 o’clock. Next we decided to make some little hickory dickory dock mice using stones, pipe cleaners, wobbly eyes and little furry ears! We enjoyed our hot chocolate while listening to a story called ‘A Mouse So Small’ by Angela McAllister about not giving up even though we are little and how it’s important to always have a big kind heart
