Science in Year 3- Making metamorphic rocks out of chocolate!

Today year 3 were looking at how different types of rocks are formed. We used chocolate to illustrate how metamorphic rocks are formed when both igneous and sedimentary rocks are heated and cool to form new metamorphic rocks. They are the most common types of rocks and we discussed how rocks can be used in everyday life. We enjoyed the practical science experiment and have more ‘hands on’ fun to come. We really enjoy working scientifically to learn new concepts and ideas.
