Year 3 Science Investigation- We have been enjoying science week and today talked about the importance of brushing our teeth regularly. We carried out an investigation, placing eggs into fizzy pop. One of the eggs (and Maxwell!) was covered in toothpaste. One was not. We kept some variables the same- the size of the jars, the amount of fizzy liquid and the time we will take to observe. We predict that the egg covered in toothpaste will have better protection and will not decay as much as the other egg. We discovered that eggshells have a similar chemical composition to our tooth enamel making them react similarly. We will observe the results to see if our predictions are correct.
