Year 4 have been learning about the 17 autonomous communities in Spain. The children discussed and sorted reasons for and against one of the autonomous communities called Catalonia becoming independent from Spain. Catalonia already has its own language, government, flag, culture and unique history. The lesson was concluded with a democratic vote with the majority of the class voting for Catalonia to become an independent state.
