Today Reception had a fabulous trip to The Word Library in South Shields. We travelled on the Metro which was very exciting and walked through the town centre to the Library. Once there we listened stories about jungle animals read to us by the librarian, we sang some songs and coloured in pictures. Then we got to choose some books to read with our friends, which we loved. We decided on a few books to take back to school using our school library card. We then went to the special self service scanner to check out the books. We found out that we can each get a library card if we go to the Library with our grown ups and join. This means we can borrow up to 12 books for free!!! The children had a brilliant morning and their behaviour was excellent. Mrs Storey, Miss Tennet and Miss Collins were very proud of all the children on the Metro and in the Library with everyone listening and showing lovely manners. Well done Reception today you were all reading super stars ⭐️
