One of our Year 3 children has been helping out at Bede’s Helping Hands Food Bank which is based on The Scotch Estate. Kai, has been a Mini Volunteer for the last five years often preparing food parcels, stacking the shelves, going on donation collections and helping out at Christmas, Easter and Halloween. Kai even helps out through the school holidays and really enjoys it.
Last November Bede’s Helping Hands won The Kings Award for Voluntary Services, and yesterday the Lord Lieutenant presented an award for Bede’s Helping Hands and also mini crystals for all of their volunteers, including Kai, for all the fantastic work they do all year round.
The school has only just found out about his volunteering and we are so proud of his efforts we wanted to share them with everyone! Well done Kai!
