This afternoon Year 4 had 4 ex-miners from Harton and Westoe Miners Heritage Society visit. The children asked the visitors questions which they had prepared about what it had been like to work as a miner. The children got to try on actual mining gear and saw photos and artefacts from the coal mines. We were so lucky to be given our own mining lamp to keep in school as a reminder of their visit.
