In Science this week, the children in Year 1 carried out a taste test and used their sense of taste to describe various foods. Children tasted spinach, marshmallows, salted crisps and lemon – some liked the lemon more than others! We talked about what we liked and disliked, recognising that everyone’s tastes are different. We used a wide range of vocabulary when describing foods, including; sweet, salty, bitter, sour and bland.
